The Must Play List

Let us take you by the hand and take you on a trip down memory lane to happier, 8-bit monochrome times. The days when you had to insert a cassette tape and suffer the high-pitched squeal while you watched a static loading screen, or had to actually use a controller that was physically connected to your console with a wire!

Where would we be today without some of those classic titles that used to keep us glued to the computer screen for hours on end? Would FIFA exist without Kick Off? Would Call of Duty be with us if it weren't for Commando?

Perhaps not. But in this age of triple-A releases, online multiplayer and achievement whoring, we shouldn't forget gaming's humble beginnings.

The Megabits Must Play List showcases over 100 titles that have made gaming what it is today.

This is our archive of nostalgia, which will be regularly updated and overhauled to highlight our pick of the gaming greats from Dizzy and Another World to the likes of Metal Gear Solid and Zelda.
